CLINICAL PATHOLOGY OF THE EYE. A practical Treatise of Histopathology by Bernard Samueis, M.D., and Adalbert Fuchs, M.D., 420 pages; 418 illustrations with 191 in full color. Paul B. Hoeber Inc., 49 East 33rd Street, N.Y. 16. 1952.

This book on clinical pathology of the eye is an important addition to the ophthalmic literature of the world. The authors have utilised a vast collection of material from various sources and their personal experience extending over many years to bring out a volume on this important subject. All chapters are well written and there are hardly any gaps. The colour plates are given on separate pages and each has its own caption in addition to description and reference in the text proper. The subject is well written and even where the authors feel that their views are contrary to the known teachings they have supported their views with anatomical and histopathological proofs. The illustrations speak for themselves when seen and truly convey the remarks of the authors in the preface- "we have used numerous illustrations in the belief that they will reveal at a glance what no amount of words could as well describe". The printing is clear and easy to read. The paper used gives both the colour plates and the illustrations a grace in print. This book should be a great asset as a reference book both to the professional ophthalmologist and the student alike.
