Practical Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by Merrill J. Reeh, Charles K. Beyer and Gerand M. Shannon--1976 Pp. 205, Figs. refs.-Lea and Febiger. Philaelphia.-$ 24.50.

This book is a good practical guide for the postgraduates and also the working ophthalmic and plastic surgeons. The common problems have been stressed and illustrated and the theoretical background is appropriately well eliminated. The basic principle of wound clousre, and skin rearrangement are incorporated. The local flaps are of choice, around the eye, but should be used with caution in the irradiated tissues.

It is true as the authers point out, that none is well equipped to encompass the total picture around the eye as the Ophthalmologist but he be trained in the Reconstructive work and vice versa, the Plastic Surgeon be trained in the ophthalmic work, but nothing like working together as a team.
