Dear Editor,

I read with interest the article on amniotic membrane preparation in the (2002;50:227-31) by Madhavan HN, et al. When we peel the membrane from the chorion, the side facing the chorion is the stromal side and the side facing away from the chorion is the epithelial side. We put the membrane on the nitrocellulose paper with the epithelial side up.

The stromal side facing the chorion is the sticky side and the epithelial side is not sticky. Your article mentions that the epithelial side is sticky.
