Pediatric cataract surgery is an exciting line of ophthalmic surgery. It is always more challenging and difficult to manage congenital and childhood cataracts of diverse etiology. Pre, intra and post operative problems are more compound in pediatric cataract surgery as compared to adult cataracts. Development of hightech children specific cataract techniques are mandatory because of their low rigidity of sclera, increased anterior capsule elasticity and high vitreous pressure.

This book contains 57 chapters divided into 10 Sections covering all aspects of pediatric cataract surgery such as evolution of pediatric cataract, pre-operative assessment, cataract surgery and lens implantation techniques, complications (both intra and post operative) management and refractive surgery in children in a beautiful and lucid manner. Various cataract operative techniques and management of complications are highlights of this book. These are explained in simplified manner for the benefit of those who are interested in pediatric cataract surgery practice.

This is first complete book on pediatric cataract surgery at an international level covering all aspects of it. The high quality colour photographs, illustrations and plates are placed in large number in the book to make this difficult subject more comprehensive. In my opinion this class book on pediatric cataract surgery is highly educative and provides up to date information. It shall be a valuable reference for all ophthalmologists and institutions.
