Here is a delightful book with simple but superb illustrations, explains how instruments works on tissues, what are the correct method of their use and why. In other words the mechanics of ophthalmic surgery is laid bare at every step. It is not a conventional book of ophthalmic surgery which outlines what is done in a particular surgical procedure. Instead the book tells how it should be done and why. It has 9 chapters on various surgical procedures including corneal and vitreous surgeries. In its 189 pages, it has 337 figuresmost of them in 2 colours. It has a very interesting introduction by Prof. P. Niesel outlining the genesis of this work. It is a book which should find a place in every medical library, Besides, surgeons who love to learn through rational understanding would be delighted with this book.
