Dear Editor,

I read with great interest the article "Live Male Adult W. Bancrofti in the anterior chamber" published in Vol. 38-No.2 of our Journal.

In this connection there are a couple of other reports and interesting facts which I bring to the notice of our readers.

At Amravati we have removed an adult filarial worm from the anterior chamber (Madangopal-1970). We were lucky to photograph the worm in situ, out side the body after extraction, and also Microphotograph the anterior and posterior ends.

There is also another report by KARKENAZOV (1962) where the worm was extracted with great difficulty but subsequently the eye was lost due to severe uveitis. Mody and Ursekar demonstrated to me at our State

Conferences beautiful photographs of a filarial worm in the vitreous cavity which was induced to come into the anterior chamber by a spot of photocoagulation. Extraction of the worm from the anterior chamber is a very tricky process and some of the surgeons have lost the worm in the drapes.[3]
