Operative Surgery , Fundamental International Techniques-EYES Third edition -Edited by Dr. Stephen J. H. Miller-1976 Pp. 161 Figs, refs. Butterworths, 88, Kingsway, London £ 12.00
There is rapid progress in the surgical technique in Ophthalmology in the last 7 to 8 years. The progress is well reflected in the new edition of this series. The book is profously illustrated work with excellent diagrams and supported by brief and to the point discussion on important surgical procedures.
The chapter on general anaesthesia in Ophthalmology has been convincingly written but it may not very practical in our country where large number of cases of cataract have to be operated in a short period. The difficult subject like Keratomileusis anc Keratophakia, lens implantation, photocoagulation and surgery of vitereous have been presented in a way that an average ophthalomlogist will be able to appreciate their importance even though they will not get a chance to operate.
It is a beautiful production in every way and is recommended to all practising ophthalmologists who may have no time to read the vast literature on the advancement in Ophthalmic surgery.
