Ocular Diagnosis and therapy by Deborah Pavan-Langston. Twelve contributing authors, 1980. Little Brown & Co. Boston. Pp 479, Figs. Tabs. $ 13.95.
It is a good manual writern by different authors which deals with basic ophthalmology. The text has been described in 15 chapters covering all aspects of eye and including chapters on Paediatric ophthalmology, burns, trauma, ocular manifestations of systemic diseases and ocular drug toxicity. Its reading and understanding has been simplified by describing details under headings. The authors have enumerated various details which are helpful. The medical therapy has been adequately discussed at most places but surgical details have not been described. The tables and appendices at the end are handy for quick revision. There are no photographs in the book and the diagrams are also limited in number.
The book is recommended for medical students specially for preparations for examinations and also for practising ophthalmologists the neurologists the paediatricians who can revise clinical finding, diagnostic test, differential diagnosis and management of common diseases at a glance.
