Text Book of Ophthalmology by Prof. H.V. Nema is a very good addition for under graduate ophthalmic libraries. It can be prescribed as an ideal text for the average under graduate students The Chapter on Examination of the Eye is very well brought out and highly commandable. About 50 colour photographs of external eye and fundus is another attractive feature of this book For a rank aspiring student there are many deficiencies like detail anatomy, Pharmacology, a little basic about Retinoscopy. Some more details about pathogenesis, pathology and clinical findings of optic atrophy will be advisable A little detail about the chemotherapy treatment of intra ocular Tumours is necessary Chapter on lacrimal apparatus requires atleast a mention of Rhinosporidiosis of sac.
