A 25-year-old male presented to us with a history of trauma to right eye with glass particles. The best corrected visual acuity in both eyes was 20/20. Fundus examination RE revealed an inferotemporal break (retinal flap) with a small discrete dark structure seen running along the length of the tear (seen against the scleral background) suggestive of an eyelash [Figure 1]a and [Figure 1]b. The patient underwent prophylactic barrage laser (PASCAL, Double frequency NdYAG-532 nm) surrounding the retinal break with three rows of confluent retinal burns [Figure 1]c. This case was managed conservatively as the patient had no visual complaints.[1] | Figure 1: (a) Optos wide field view of Right eye fundus showing an inferotemporal retinal tear with surrounding haemmorhages (b) more focused image of the same lesion with embedded eyelash (c) image showing confluent lser burns surrounding the lesion
