Paddy seed injury of cornea during harvesting season is very common in coastal India where rice is grown as the main crop.[1],[2],[3] A 42-year-old man, farmer, presented with history of redness and visual loss in left eye for 2 months. His presenting visual acuity was 20/400. He had mild lid edema, bulbar congestion, and corneal ulcer in the upper half of the cornea [Figure 1]a. On eversion of upper lid, we found a germinated paddy seed in vegetative stage which was removed with a cotton bud [Figure 1]b. KOH mount preparation showed filamentous fungus. The ulcer healed with natamycin eye drops within 2 weeks with final visual acuity of 20/60 [Figure 1]c.
